The Ripollès is a region located in a mountainous area on the southern slopes of the Pyrenees between three valleys: the Vall de Ribes, Ripollès Lower Valley and the Valley of Camprodon.
It borders the counties of Cerdanya, Berguedà, Osona, Vallespir, Garrotxa and Conflent.

Most of the territory is of medieval origin and mainly emphasizes its heritage of Romanesque art.
